Washing hair with sudsing shampoos on a daily basis over-works, strips and dries out your mane no matter how gentle your shampoo is. It’s also perfect when you’re traveling, camping, or otherwise unable to hop in the shower.

Since dry shampoo is applied directly to your scalp, you want to be sure you’re using all natural ingredients. Unfortunately, some of the dry shampoos on the market contain chemicals that are not healthy for your hair or your body. We came across this super easy do-it-yourself dry shampoo that you can make at home with just 2 ingredients!

Natural Dry Shampoo Ingredients

All you need to make your own dry shampoo at home is arrowroot powder (flour) and vanilla powder. As always, organic is best whenever possible. The arrowroot powder will absord oil and give your hair lift at the roots while the subtle hint of vanilla powder will make your hair smell lovely!

Step 1 – Get Your Ingredients and Measure Correct Amounts

All you need is one cup of organic arrowroot powder (flour) and 1-2 teaspoons of organic vanilla powder.

Step 2 – Whisk Ingredients Together

Step 3 – Store in Airtight Jar

Using Your Natural Dry Shampoo

Apply a pinch to roots and allow to rest on scalp for a couple minutes before shaking your hair out or brushing through, if you prefer. We like applying to bangs (fringe) which can otherwise get oily against your face during the day.  Not only does dry shampoo absorb oil, it also gives your hair a little life and lift.
