Fall Wellness: 5 tips

Fall is officially here and I have to admit that I am truly grateful to be living in California. It never gets too cold or too hot but we still get some fall colors! I might be jealous come January when everyone is playing in the snow, but then again I can always drive to Tahoe. As the weather turns and we are pulling out our sweaters, I want to pass on a few helpful pointers from Dr Lauren Fitzgerald as we all go into this season of the year!

  1. Seasonal Affective Disorder is real and for those of us that are exposed to less sunlight during fall and winter, there are a few things you can do to help like taking a Vitamin D coupled with a Vitamin K2 supplement every morning, buying an artificial light that mimics the sun to use daily and keep up in your water consumption despite cooler temps.  All of these will help support your health and happiness in fall and winter months.
  2. Create a plan for your own health and wellness journey to ensure you don’t massively fall off the wagon during this tempting season!  Find a group of like-minded people who have the same goals and create a group chat or social media private group to help support each other during the Fall!
  3. Plan ahead.  Remember that you can create typical foods of Autumn by trying different recipes with better ingredients that are whole food based and devoid of all of the #frankenfoodingredients that so many people make these foods with.
  4. Finally…use DATA to track anything you want to change and if you don’t want to pack on the pounds/inches during this season of pumpkin-yummy-goodness everywhere, then be intentional about keeping track of what you eat and your personal data during the next few months!
  5. CBD: Create a ritual of regular CBD use. Try a spray or drop under your tongue daily. Also recommended a butter cream heating on your chest, neck and shoulders for that “warm, under a blanket by a fire feeling.”
